Switching Off to Open Up a Conversation!

Switching Off to Open Up a Conversation!

Yet another striking campaign, yet another striking ad by another brand. The creativity and the positivity that a campaign brings out of a brand is impeccable.

Advertising campaigns are one great way to speak for what the brand wants to portray through their product and service or what is their long term objective.

Striking a chord in the minds of the users is the best way to grab their attention to the brand. Each ad campaign gets better than the other.

In this fast-paced forgetful world where people do not have time to relax for a minute, switching off is the best thing to do.

Vivo India, the chinese smartphone brand takes the opportunity to show how busy people are and how they are just one #switchoff away from bonding with their spouse and family.

What is Vivo?

Vivo is a phone brand based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. It was founded in 2009. The company has entered India recently. It’s USP is it makes low-cost Android phones in the markets.

About the Advertisement

Conceptualised by the team, the film shows an emotionally enchanting and stimulating story that strikes a chord of guilt in every viewer's mind.

The story shows how a wife has to write an email to communicate with her husband, sitting right next to her, to inform him about her health. In the story the husband woke up to the message rings and phone calls and was neglecting whatever his wife was trying to tell him. Completely unaware of the fact that she is unwell.

The husband then realised his mental absence in the relationship when he reads the text on his mail that says she needs a paracetamol.  He realised the need to switch off his smartphone to be completely involved in his relationship with his wife.

With this and more such other ads, Vivo is trying to push its users to switch their phones off for a while and live the moment, cherish  intimate times and rejuvenate relationships that are getting lost somewhere in the busy lives of people.

Why is Vivo Promoting #SwitchOff As Their Latest Campaign?

Smartphones  have become a very important part of our lives. Right from the start of the day to the end, smartphones are with us all the time, jeopardising the quality time and the moments of relationships.

Unintentionally, excessive usage of smartphones is negatively impacting the intimate relationship we have with our partners. Being physically present makes no sense if you are mentally absent or involved with something else, after all emotional involvement is always greater than physical involvement.

This results in decreased attention towards the partner, causing fights, disappointment and bad blood between the two.

The aim of the ‘switch off’ campaign is the brand’s effort to raise awareness and initiate a dialogue on how excessive smartphone use by spouses is harming the relationships with their better halves.
